STUDENT CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

There are many benefits gained from joining a student club or organization, including meeting new friends. Club involvement also offers an opportunity for students to learn skills such as time management and group dynamics. These experiences, combined with academic learning, are the ingredients of a well-rounded education. Students are encouraged to join one of the various campus clubs or organizations because the experience gained can last a lifetime. Please take the time to review the list of updated campus clubs by contacting the Student Engagement Coordinator or the Director of Student Activities on your campus.

ANIME MANGA CLUB

Anime Manga Club is comprised of readers of Japanese animation and comic art. The group welcomes students and faculty who are interested in all things Anime, including print, movies, and personal creations.

ART CLUB

Art Club is open to students who are interested in looking at, discussing, and making art. We try to use art to build and connect with the community through campus public art projects and community-based service projects. Each semester Art Club takes field trips to view artwork at museums and galleries in the region. We encourage anyone interested in learning about art, viewing art, and making art to join us.

CAYA is an organization that celebrates diversity and welcomes students from all ethnic backgrounds in the planning and organizing of various programs and activities. We welcome all students to join the diverse organization that explores cultures and acknowledges commonalities among us. The club goals are based on openness, exposure, and celebration of the diversity on the CCC campus and in the surrounding community. We are stronger as a whole than the sum of our parts.

CAYUGA COLLEGIAN
STUDENT NEWSPAPER

The student-run newspaper, The Â鶹¹ú²ú¾«Æ· Collegian, offers students the opportunity to gain experience in news and sports reporting and writing, column, feature writing, copy editing, business advertising, and photography. Members of The Â鶹¹ú²ú¾«Æ· Collegian staff and others also host a weekly new-media show called CAYUGA BYTES. The variety talk show’s theme is Anything and Everything about Â鶹¹ú²ú¾«Æ· in a free form new media format which encourages students to contribute whatever they have to showcase as a live guest, on videotape, or through photos!

CREATIVE WRITING CLUB

Creative Writing Club at Â鶹¹ú²ú¾«Æ· invites students from all disciplines to share, write and discuss a wide range of writing: fiction (literary & genre), nonfiction, poetry, plays, scripts, and songs. The club is supportive, non-judgmental, and strives to make writers comfortable when sharing work.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE CLUB

The Early Childhood club will provide social and educational support to early childhood students. They will promote early childhood education in the community and provide a forum to exchange ideas and address current issues in early childhood education. ENGINEERING AND TECHNICAL CLUB

A club organized by and for the benefit of students in Engineering Science as well as Mathematics and Sciences, Computer Technologies, Drafting and Design, Mechanical Technologies, and Electrical Technologies. Here is your chance to interact with faculty and students sharing technical interests to further those interests in technologies by taking field trips to potential transfer schools, plant tours of manufacturing facilities, listening to guest speakers, and attending meetings of professional societies like Manufacturing (SME), Quality Assurance (ASQ,) and Automotive Engineering (SAE).

GIS CLUB

GIS Club provides an environment for discussion and activities to increase awareness of Geographic Information Systems and its applications both inside and outside the college community. We invite GIS graduates, alumni, community leaders, educators, and professionals into the discussion, hence creating an appreciation of GIS and its potential across the disciplines. Also, we undertake monthly club meetings, field trips, community projects, and provide information about higher education and job opportunities in GIS and related fields.

HISTORY CLUB

The History Club welcomes all students who want to learn more about History and enjoy meeting others who share their interests. Our club has visited local museums and historic sites, taken a bike tour along the Erie Canal, traveled to Washington DC, lobbied members of Congress to support the Tubman National Historical Park, and sponsored monthly films. Together with the Art Club, we also maintain historically-themed exhibits in the Â鶹¹ú²ú¾«Æ· Library. All majors are welcome, and we especially encourage students in the History Concentration, those interested in careers in museum work, and students who plan to continue their studies in History beyond their time at Â鶹¹ú²ú¾«Æ·.

Our NSLS chapter at Â鶹¹ú²ú¾«Æ· was started in 2015 and is part of the national organization with 700+ chapters and over 1.4 million members. Students are selected based on exemplary academic achievement. As of 2021, we have 652 members who have access to nearly , an exclusive NSLS job board, a personalized letter of recommendation, and who learn from exceptional leaders like former President Barack Obama during exclusive Speaker Broadcasts. to learn more.

PTK is the National Community Junior College Honor Society with more than 200 chapters in fully accredited community colleges throughout the country. Membership is open to selected students who attain a high scholastic average and who qualify in character and leadership qualities. PTK invites students to join who qualify at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.
